Drop your case at a dept collecting agency (in Dutch: incasso bureau). They'll take away all the hassle and collect the money for you.

No collecting agency (in germany its nearly the same as in dutch: "Inkasso-Büro"/ "Inkasso-Firma") in the world would accept this job! Believe me...
And even if theres one - they´ll want so much money that there would be no sense in it anymore. :-((

Yes, which is why no joe-blow can up and be a P.I. (I was very, very briefly a researcher for a family-run P.I. business, which is why I know a little about it.) That's why a lot of P.I.'s are former cops, and they typically work very closely and cooperatively with police agencies.

It makes sense if you think about it...

Take, for instance, a case we had -- client's daughter has been picked up by her father (divorce, mother had legal custody) who has taken off, looks like a possible kidnapping. In those situations you may want more heads looking that just the police. In this event, there's info you can't legally get yourself because of information security risks, but a licensed P.I. has access, better enabling him/her to track and hunt down the kidnapper.

Just an example. They can be pretty useful.

I just can´t understand that private Persons - if they once become an P.I. - can get such an "special license".... Abuse is in my P.O.V. preprogrammed (I dunno if this word exists...)

There is one possibility that you may be forced to use.

Accept it and move on. Sometimes stuff happens and there is nothing more that you can do about it other than to chalk it up to experience.

Not very helpful I know but as the avenues of possibility start to close the more quickly you can accept this one the less stressful your life will be....

I am not sure about where you are from but here in the US of A we have a contract which is signed prior to any renting (for the day, week, or night). On this contract there is usually more personal information than the whole name. Do you have a birthday? What is her nationality? Is she from where you are? Is she from Japan?

KingZ - any idea if this person was in the US Military/Navy? If they were, well, I don't know how you could get ahold of anyone at the base who could do anything (or if they would), but you might want to file a complaint or something at the police station? I don't know too much about this stuff since I'm only 17, but it's just a thought.

You say you have already worked with these firms, but have you talked to them about this case? What is there to lose, either they can help you get some of the money back, or you walk away from it with nothing. You came here for free help, asking if they can help and how much, costs the same? $0

i see.. u r trying to do ur online findings first...

to fully utilize your search in the net, u really need to search deep... i mean really deep.
u also have to make sure the person u r searching is really an "internet person", where she use internet frequently..

use several search engine and learn the query in the search engine.. first best is google;

use other type of search engine, as the crawlers in the engines works differently,
for eg: use www.ask.com to search deep in discussion forums...

be creative with search engines..

some webpages restricting the search engine crawler, so if u r able to know her habbits, try to go to forums, community that she intended to go to.. and search for her...

for eg: goto friendster; if u find her; ask all the close links to her..

I tried google way, to search an old friend, seems to work.. i even found his phone number, address, and latest photos..

i think this kind of things threaten personal privacy, hmm..??? sometimes internet do works that way..
