I'm using KDE with the basic apps [on a Gentoo system] because back in the days of RedHat 9 I never got along with Gnome. It's also a personal look preferrence and the fact that I like the added functionality over some window managers.

Buy 9.1 Professional. you get a **** load more applications, and you get more than KDE and GNOME. I use X-Splash, Enlightenment, GNOME, KDE, and WindowMaker when I have X loaded.

Thanks everyone for posting. When I get SuSE I'll try all of them out, and see which one I prefer. Thanks again.

By the way if you head to http://www.wbglinks.net/ (one of my favourite sites), down the left hand side it has different link sections. One of which is dedicated to Gnome and another dedicated to KDE
