Before clearing spywares and viruses from my computer I disabled system restore, and efter that all have been done I tried to enable system restore, but I got 2 different messages in different situations.
1) DisbaleSR = 1 // Service started and Stopped (msg from service manager) // Cannot start (from start menu)
2) DisableSR = 0 // Cannot start file not found (msg from service manager) // Cannot start

Ok I will have to agree with Moxix on this one you will need to use your XP disk to repair system restore. Other that that you could C: Format but only as a last resort

Would you care to expand a little? I'm interested in how you identified the reg entries as the "Culprit," along with which ones they were, what they were set to, and what you changed them to.
I'm sure this would help others too! Plus, that's what the AntiOnline forums are about ... sharing knowledge.
Glad to hear you got it fixed!
Tomorrow is another day for yesterdays work!

Curious.. are these the exact messages?
I would be not so suprised that one of your spyware's wasn't a Cool Web Search varient. one of the areas damaged in the registry is the system restore settings..
Also a needed service may have been disabled..
For those watching it would be nice, if not polite, to enlighten us to your cure..
Cheers
