    microsoft NTP servers

    How can I configure one server to be the main server that the rest of the servers sync the time with which will in turn sync with the workstations?

    2K active directory, mixed mode.

    All of the following servers are 2K server with all available service packs and critical updates.

    Server1
    Server2
    Server3
    Server4
    Server5
    etc.

    Current time server is Server4

    Server4 is actually at a remote location and I'd like to move the current time server to the "main site"...

    C:\Documents and Settings\user>net time
    Current time at \\SERVER4 is 9/28/2004 10:45 AM
    I want it to read the following

    C:\Documents and Settings\user>net time
    Current time at \\SERVER1 is 9/28/2004 10:45 AM
    Server1 will be configured to use a specific time server... I'll use time.windows.com in this case.

    Thanks for help in advance... Microsoft's documentation is lacking....

    here http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...intimeserv.doc is the MS doc about that.

    W2k has a hiearchy to deploy time service for all stations/servers. On that doc you can see all, but a shortcut is that: sync the PDC that resides on root zone (AD) with a trustfull source (such as nist). everything else will automatically sync with pdc
