EventID: 16391
Last week I installed the latest batch of Microsoft patches on a couple of machines for testing. Since the install, I am getting the following event popping up in the System Log:
EventID: 16391
The BITS job list is not in a recognized format. It may have been created by a different version of BITS. The job list has been cleared.
OS = Win. 2000 pro. One machine is a Compaq M300 laptop the other is an old server class machine.
Is anyone else seeing this error? Is it anything I should be worried about?
Thanks

Thanks Guys, the link ByTeWrangler gave helped fix the problem.
- net stop bits
- del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\*.*"
- net start bits.
Cheers:

Thanks [You can safely ignore this event if only SMS was creating BITS jobs. If
there are any custom applications which also create BITS job then you might
wanna investigate more on this.]
