    Nmap -T switch

    Well i got a question
    What exactly does the -T switch do in nmap
    I don't quite get it

    -T <Paranoid|Sneaky|Polite|Normal|Aggressive|Insane> General timing policy

    I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) it means how fast nmap will send out packets. In other words, timing of port scan.

    In addition, to ammo's post, "Secrets of Network Cartography:
    A Comprehensive Guide to nmap"[1] makes a fairly good read
    about nmap.

    In particular, the default timing settings (-T) are given in a
    table[2].
