Fedora Partition Ordering Problem
howdy,
I ran into a queer predicament at work today. We are working on an employee's Linux machine and the it has a SCSI drive running as the master, and two slave IDE drives. The SCSI went bad and we replace it and in trying to install a new OS on it ( Fedora Core 4 ). Is the correct partition order
boot
root
swap
? The machine keeps locking up after installation completes. I'd appreciate any revelations on this matter.
Thanks,
Rasem

Why not just let Fedora do the partitions by itself?
Generally you want /swap first. Not that I install Fedora anymore, the thing seems broken out of the box. Wouldn't even install on my Laptop.
Most problems in Linux come form people who have no idea how to partition right trying to do it customized when the installer usually makes good choices.

That will definitely prevent a lot of issues if you are new to the OS.
How far along in the boot process did it get? Do you remember what you selected for the location for the boot loader?
cheers
edit: dang you guys type while I'm trying to eat! Can't get a word in edge-wise
