    Now that beast looks fun!

I guess the bottom line is how much time & money you want to spend on the sport/hobby and what do you want to do, meaning just for fun, or race, etc. The reason that's important is the money & dedication involved. If you want to just go play, that truck you're looking at will provide you with tons of fun! Get a couple extra battery packs so you don't spend all your time charging and less time driving. The 550 motors it comes with will last a very long time and are generally inexpensive to replace if one goes south.

On the other hand, racing costs big bucks and you have a ton to learn about. Tuning your car/truck, tuning your motors, breaking the modified motors down after every run and building them back up again. The list goes on... Matched cells, battery conditioners(not just a charger), motors are far more expensive - especially modifieds, the brushes wear out, the armatures must be turn frequently, so on and so on. However, it is a blast as well. So you'll have to decide. You can ease into though!

Gotta warn you though, the worst I was ever beat was by a female. After the main, I asked her how she was able to trash me so easily. In addition to telling me that she deliberatly only wears trace amounts of perfume to keep our noses busy, and tight fitting clothes for the sole purpose of keeping our minds busy; she said men are not as aggressive RC Car drivers when they are challenged by a woman. The next weekend, I spanked her little fanny all over the track. I made sure I had BO and looked like a slob!

    cheers

A gallon of nitro fuel costs around $22 - a gallon is enough for 100 tanks or so, and each tank is good for around 10 minutes - that's better than having to wait for a battery pack to be charged

On the other hand: nitro's are messy, need a lot of attention/care (takes me at least 10 minutes to take care of the thing after every hour of running it), are poisonous (I quit smoking half a year ago, but those nitro gasses are way worse than smoking), and the darn thing almost broke my foot...
