gore...since when have you ever watched your mouth?
As for JP's motivations for asking the question...I couldn't tell you...
and I fail to see why every time any criticism is displayed it's now considered whining...that's just plain ridiculous...
as for my own comments...I was merely answering JP's question based upon the facts laid out by what the sites own stats reveal...
I don't think even JupMed would deny that they bought the site to increase their own exposure and that AO no longer provides the exposure it once did...that was a business decision and a very good one at the time.
As a good site to participate in...I have no disagreements with that...no one is saying the site sucks...just that the facts bear out that the site is no longer in it's prime of life.
If anyone is is offended by any comments I personally made ...well...I'll try next time to be more sympathetic to the more insecure and sensitive readers
Geeeez children...grow up.

As far as the site going down hill, I'm not sure. I think the main thing is, is the site serving its purpose? Can you come here and find information about securing your computer? Can you have a decent discussion about security? I would have to answer "yes" on both of those points.
I really don't think Jupiter Media has ruined this site.
Hi Eg,
You didn't offend me. My post was more focused on this:
Why did this place die? Who killed it?
I was also thinking of some past threads like this. I'm sure those past threads colored my response to this one. Hmm, as I look back on some of the earlier posts I think I was making the mistake of assuming that the blame was being laid on Jupiter Media.
I am disagreeing with the idea that this site is dead. It's a question that really contains a statement. The validity of that statement can be denied or defended.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you want to tell anyone to grow up, wouldn't it make sense not to take what I said personally or as some form of whack on you? I didn't even see your post.... I didn't know you were even IN this thread. So obviously we have a communication problem.

Well JP...
The last news reference is...
Member stats of the year registered with posts over 50 by year...
2001...251
2002...314
2003...272
2004...121
2005...50
2006...5 ( and 2 of them were doppy and another whiz coming back ) ...at this rate they'll be less than 15 on this year.
given the stats I'd estimate the decline began around the same time you sold the site ( in around Feb 2003 ) and the news headlines became old news.

Hey guys... Just have a look at this thread..!
JP has got what he was after.. He has stired you lot out to argue with eachother.
His past visits have been the same, where some visits he did contribute, the past couple all they were, "Hi.. Missed me?...why has my baby died"
I have learnt something from this thread: AO IS NOT DEAD, it may have been ill, could even be ill. But dying or dead..no bloody way.
Is this site anything like it was when JP sold it? No and that is a good thing
Is this site anything like JP saw it going before he sold it?.. No.. if it was then JP wouldnt have sold it.. this also is a good thing
I am not going at JP for selling the site, he had his reasons, I dont have a financial interest, so it isnt my place to critisise. And Am I kicking JP for being concerned.. Yes..
In my past I have had some cars, after selling them either because the car had become too expensive to own or I had moved on to newer and better. Have any of you ever done that? JP you?
What happens if you happen to pass that vehicle a year or so later? you will check it out.. well some of us will..I do.. How do you feel if it has been trashed? or how about, it has been restored beautifuly? Hmm
OK try this : What about..it has been modified and isnt the car you once owned.. Turned into a Bus Shelter by some pinko commie Artist (redneck descriptor not my view..).. huh, or just painted an obnoxious colour..
Well that is more of what AO is.. the owners have tried to keep as much of the original vehicle, they have given it a new coat of paint, put some flaring on the rear.. someone miss-judged a corner and put a nasty scrape in the fender, and it has started to rust.. the motor runs ok, there is no smoke from the exhaust and the gears grind during the shift from 2nd to third.
So like me I would be a little saddened to see the car a bit run down..
but then perhaps it is in about the same shape it was in when you sold it.. some one has cared for it .. they have had a go at keeping it in good order...But when you look at the other cars on the road ..it looks a plain old heap of ......
So my point: JP either help us with restoring the motor and gearbox or either run off grab some coffee, and stop telling us that the horse is dead.. CAUSE IT AINT DEAD..

Why did this place die? Who killed it?
You just gotta take a look at this thread to know why.
Childish Moderators
Power hungry Moderators
Too Many moderators
In fact IMHO, just the Moderators in greneral
JPM reviving old accounts to increase the activity on the forums...only presuming everyone is too dumb to realise what they are doing
Oh yeah and you selling the site in the first place and then coming back to stir up the **** when it suits you.
