I think it is a moot point, as I mentioned before innovation is the key to success, as with any product/service it will improve with competition. A simple example of this in recent memory is Ford Motors a long time powerhouse of automobile manufacturing is literally being forced to redesign their auto's to survive the current market. They may have invented it, but they are falling behind as of late. So be it.

Sink or swim, competition ultimately benefites the consumer.

I think it's been many years since you could consider Ford a real powerhouse in to automotive industry... They were Kings through the 60s... the original mustangs are "boss" cars but what did they do in the 70s.. they had minor success but not much.. in the 80s they died... the 90s was also a loss for them... even now... the new designs aren't that great.. people keep talking about the new mustangs but compared to the imports and even some of the Dodge cars.. they are still garbage..

    Peace,
    HT

I measure the "powerhouse" statement by earnings which still topped in the hundreds of millions of dollars, I agree Ford builds crap.

Article a bit dated but it is a prelude to their latest woes.

On the other hand a bit of bragging is in order as I could sell my house and sleep in this car.

Galdron just bought a new Audi RS4, which is not crap.

Mine is Black though. Try me in a Mustang, or a Viper for that matter. Buh-Bye.

Very nice choice ... When I finally decide to get a car and stop relying on public transit (although that might never happen... the bus on my street runs every 5 minutes) I'll prolly go foreign... Unless I pick up an old muscle car instead... the only new cards i'd get would maybe be the new GTO...(that's a maybe)... but I could go for the Dodge Magnum any day....

Ok, I'll take you up on that. Of course I'm not stock... but should that matter?

Oh and the real bonus of the iPod is that wheel. It is easy to use, very VERY intuitive (especially for non-tech people) and has been a major selling point since they came out with it. iPod isn't going away, just because MS is posturing right now doesn't mean anything. xBox didn't kill the Playstation and their new mp3 player isn't going to kill the iPod.

But competition is good indeed, so hopefully Apple will come up with something better.

They are North American Not American.... at least they are these days... Domestic means North America.... Half the plants for those cars are within 2hours drive of me (all in Canada).. Although if you want me to consider them purely American and say that American makes the worlds shittiest cars... I can do that as well

As for iPod Check out: http://hrmpf.com/wordpress/75/a-voic...-ipods-iphone/

    Wow,
so much heavy discussion on ipod, and all I thought till now was that it is a very good portable music player which was just built for enhanced experience for music fads...

Need to fine tune my perception about techno products it seems.... ;-)

I would have to disagree with the statement that american cars are shite. I would also chime in and say a lot of the foreign cars are starting to be assembled in the US and I believe Canada as well. It just so happens that the foreign companies are offering more cars then before and a lot of them do run really well. But on that same note most any new car you get anymore is going to run for 100k+ with minimal issues. Hence why they are getting larger and larger warranties on everything. Also to say Ford builds shite is interesting since they are doing really well globally compared to domestically.

enough of that back to the topic at hand:

Will microsoft squash them? I think in time they will make a huge dent in apple, but both brands will be around.

I am on my 2nd iPod and I really am not THAT impressed with it. The video quality is much better than I could have imagined and the battery life is pretty good. On the other hand the little toggle wheel is really sensitive if i was just holding a drink it wont work on the wheel, the system lags quite often when I try to bust through a few menu options quickly and itunes is the biggest piece of a$$ in the world. I have never used a music application that was so resource intensive that I thought I was running autocad and photoshop at the same time just to make the application start.

Apple has also limited the number of accessories you get when you purchase an iPod. You no longer even get a wall charger. Sorry but I don't want to have a PC around to always charge my music player and I shouldn't have to spend 30-45 dollars more to get the charger. Fortunately I just use the one from my original iPod... which i had to lay to rest cause it died.

All in all if you can get another company that has the advertising power to get their music player the attention needed and addresses all the issues and has the ability to do cool stuff, you will get a very good contendor in the market

Umm this is General Chit-chat. Christ.

I found the article interesting and I WOULD want Bluetooth built into an MP3 player. It would eliminate the need to carry around an interface.

You want to play it on the lappy. Click.
    On the desktop. Click
    On the car radio. Click.
Hey nice ipod can i have that tune.. Click
    Car radio with bluetooth... Click
