A suspicious looking package turned up outside an army base, so the experts are called in and they do a controlled explosion.... only to find its a box of leaflets detailing what to do with suspicious looking packages.

I work for the US Postal Service. Because we thought they were suspicious packages we've detonated all sorts of things like clocks, vibrators,etc etc.

Of course we were paranoid about the Unabomber at the time.

These things happen............ I would not blame the Postal Services in any country, as they are generally pretty on top of this sort of stuff and have x-ray and ultrasound scanners?

This is a true story, by the way.

I have an old school pal who works for our Postal Services and he told me this one. It was a few Christmases ago, and someone had bought a friend/relative who happened to be a fisherman, one of those fancy GPS distress alert devices..............

Well it was in the postal services van and must have gotten a knock or something..............and that set it off

Well, rules are rules huh? so the gizmo squealed to the satellite which immediately issued an APB.........and rules are rules?

So we have a Postal Services truck bowling along a freeway with an RAF Air_Sea Rescue helicopter in hot pursuit
