Who hasn't seen this once?

I've seen similar after about a week of my cousin buying a new computer. He said it was slow so I told him to bring his computer over, and I decided to start with a virus scanner after updating it.
Wasn't that far off this.

Couldn't those just be infected files and not different viruses?

Nope, clearly different viruses. Well, perhaps the same few viruses over and over. However - I refuse to believe that a pc that infected would boot anywhere near fast enough to be called "slow". That many viruses would turn a modern PC into a slow abacus surely?

MY cousin's was pretty slow. 7 Trojans + 1500 spyware and Malware alone does that heh.

Even when I was trying to collect viruses, I couldn't find near that many. Would you ask your cousin where he found them? (snicker)

Probably the porn .exe "movies". I know how you feel though, I was collecting them for a bit and had like a decent sized collection but nothing like that. I guess it's like shark hunting; The people who find them didn't want to and the others use bait and still only get a nibble.

I would tend to think that while clearly very infected, some of what AVG found were remnants to the same virus affecting lots of different files.
Nevertheless it's impressive. I'm surprised it even booted - was it for real ?? I keep wondering if people don't just set these things up to make good videos out of to put on You Tube

The reason i said that is cuz back in 2002 when i started using PCs and was a real script kiddie i used to download all kinda **** and Norton reported somewhat over 8,000 viruses but they were mostly infected files....

WoW that is bad? I agree that a computer wouldnt boot surely average , even slow.
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
