    Hey MsMittens and everyone.

I basically do what MsMittens suggested. I donate to my local library the books they will take. Some books are past even what the library will take, so I put those in the Good Will donation bins for sell there. For some reason tech books, no matter how old, always sell at thrift stores.

The Wolfman has a friend who is a teacher. I always give her my older books so she can share them with her students.

But the books I included in my picture below are just way to old!! I'm not sure it would benefit one of her students to learn the structures of Cobol.

    Happy New Years everyone!!!

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

No way! The Wolfman loves these nostalgic books because there's no school like the ol'school.

I'm glad you like my books though

If you want some ol'school books, you can always check your local garage sales.

what i was refferring to is doing something like this
    [check attachement]

maybe ur first thing would be little smaller first
    there are other ideas
like for example u smokers.. u can cut the book in the middle, and put some kind of isolation between the papers and cigarettes - maybe wood..aluminum stuff
this will make a cool geeky ashtray
the book has to be small.. but relatively lot of pages

other small books could be used for beer related stuff maybe
    will post some ideas later

Yes it would, history is an important factor in the learning process IMHO, and structured languages such as COBOL, RPG, FORTRAN and ALGOL are an interesting facet of that history.

Assembler for the IBM XT huh?................... My fully functional PC XT might just be about to get a workout again......... hey this one is the Mutt's nuts..... twin 5.25" floppies and a 10Mb hard drive........... yeah! 10 megabytes she boots DOS 3.3 ............... I do have a shiny new 52Mb drive but haven't yet decided whether to upgrade the IBM or my HP Vectra VS12 (that is a 286 with a 20Mb HDD and boots DOS 5.0/'Doze 2.01 )

Old technology books are fun, but not half as much as when you have the old technology to go with them
