Condolences to the Lefties
Author-radio host-actor-activist and Chicago symbol Louis "Studs" Terkel died today at his Chicago home at age 96.

Terkel was one of the true old school reds of the 1930s,
not like these whiney wannabe liberals of today.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

"Reds"...........................I didn't think that you had any real "reds" in the USA. I always thought it was a European thing.

Yeah, we had a few, but they're all dying off now.

Yeah, same sort of trend over here it would seem.
I can remember the British Communist Party fielding candidates in our elections, but I haven't seen any for years now. I guess that the decline goes back to the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968?
You used to see the newspaper "The Daily Worker" on sale at larger news stands.............. haven't seen that for years either. It was the official organ of the BCP who are nominally Marxist.
You used to have long haired lefties hanging around outside Woolworths and various department stores, selling the "Socialist Worker". That was the Trotskyists' newspaper.
I don't know what has happened................ maybe they all found proper jobs and are really "workers" now.
