Blazing New Technology Delivers Data at 2.56 Terabits per Second
Bell Labs has claimed that they have developed a new technique for sending data over long distances which shatters the previous records for data delivery.
By increasing the amount of data sent per optical fiber strand and utilizing 64 channels per cable, they were able to reach a blinding delivery speed of 2.56 terabits per second to a target 2,500 miles away.
Bell Labs plans to use this technology in future products, which should lower the cost of long distance networking while improving the speed.
