For anyone who pays attention, the lastest "stable" snort release (1.8.6) was released earlier this month. A new beta release (1.8.7beta1) was released yesterday. It fixes a couple of bugs that would allow you to send packect undetected past the IDS. The way the packects were formed, it appears that the flaw will show up on other firewall/IDS systems also, but I haven't seen any announcements about those yet.
