I'm just curious as to how many AO members feel like I do on the status of our current crop of leaders in D.C.. I've grown tired of lobbyists, backed by big business and special interest groups, buying our elected officials and then pressuring them into passing legislation that is basically in the 'worst' interest of the American people. I am advocating a separation of 'corp.' and state, whereby election funding should come from public monies instead of corporate coffers with strings attached. I wouldn't advocate funding for this plan as a tax increase on individuals, but rather a small increase in corporate tax liabilities. Given that they aren't paying lobbyists to buy congressmen under such a system, they should be able to afford it. What say you, my friends?
