4 (I gotta think of something better than that) I get so disgusted with the me, me, attitude in this country sometimes, I really have to control myself when posting on boards like this. I realize people from all over the world post here and some of these comments might be from overseas.
What everyone seems to be overlooking is that the attacks are not over. We're going to get hit again, and again after that. Until, as was said a year ago, we hunt them down and eliminate them wherever they are, we aren't going to be safe. Considering the various types of gas and biological weapons available, the next attack might make the last seem insignificant. And, enough of that stuff can be carried across either of our borders to wipe out a fair sized city.
Terrorists don't have to try to drive in. On my State's border, and neighboring Arizona's, illegals are walking across at will. America's borders reminds me of the guy who put up chicken wire to keep flies out of the hen coop. They're about as secure.
Like it or not, we've got to move. If it takes vaporizing the entire mideast to keep America safe, then I say go for it. Searching back into history, I'm reminded of Rome. If somebody attacked Rome, they retaliated. They didn't just take out the attackers; they took out their wives, children, relatives, villages, and eliminated the entire culture. THAT's how to be safe. The Roman Empire survived a thousand years. They must have done something right.
