I've been having problem with my DVD on my laptop..that DVD works only in my XP..but not working in my LINUX..(my laptop have XP and RH LINUX as OSes).
When I installed RH LINUX..I've got XINE already in it by default, I've tried to uninstall and reinstall..and even I've tried to install latest version XINE ..still not working.
I just realised the most common is LINUX not recognising some IDE CD/DVD-rom drive. And I fixed that by adding hdc=cdrom/dvdrom to the LILO config. And LINUX will recognised that the second IDE device is really CD/DVD-rom.
So this is what I've done:
#edit LILO.config
image=/vmlinuz
label=linux
root=/dev/hda2
vga=ask
append= "hdc=cdrom/dvdrom"
mem=160M.
That's it...somehow it's works for my laptop(toshiba satellite 1800 series 1100).
I hope this information helps....to anyone who have some problem.
cheerss
