You guys ever see the movie Takedown. Its about the pursuit and capture of Kevin Mitnick. This is a stupid question, but i'm going to ask it anyway.

In the beginning of the movie in the strip bar. Kevin and Alex meet up with Ice Breaker in the bar for the second time. Alex takes a napkin and puts it on top of the laptop. He then takes a marker a writes on the napkin with the words , recordable?. I was just wondering what is he doing? Ive been pondering about this since the first time i saw the movie.
