I'm always wondering why everyone wants to use p2p-networks. You get more crap than you dld-ed in the first place.
There's just no challenge on it. I love it to search something without those p2p, and heh... I every time seem to find what I need.
I agree. I can always find what I need. Well... almost always. You just have to know where to look and how to use a search engine properly.
On the otherhand... I think p2p networks are great for people who want publicity.
I have said it before and I'll say it again...
The only thing I use p2p for is to let people download some local bands' music that I am friends with.
I have their permission and there are several of us that do it. I have been getting more hits than ever... and more and more people are showing up to the shows. On their flyers... we recommend people search p2p networks for their music. If they want the CD, they can buy it at the show. If not... at least the band gets paid more because they are pulling in larger crowds.
It is a good way for small bands to get some publicity. Not everyone can get on MTV (most of which is crap anyway) and don't have the finances to get on the radio or place ads.
The next best thing... p2p networks.
With the good comes the bad.
Yes, the viruses... the priated software... and all that comes with it.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.
