First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller

^ that is why the legal system does not consider intent outside of self-defense, defense of another in immediate danger, or defense of property. 1984 is a possibility if this is allowed.

Additionally, www.aljazeera.com is an arab news site, whose greatest offense to the US (that I've seen) is complete reporting of events in Iraq (showing the americans being tortured for example). Freedom of the press is one of the most valued freedoms in America, and yet there is instant outcry at a foreign news agency excercising that? Morally, many are opposed to what was shown, or that they showed it at all. But think about this: how much MORE strength did that add to the American cause (however you view it) by showing the depths to which Saddam would sink to? There is NO justification for ANY such actions against them. Also, as far as I've seen there is no link between Al-Jazeera and the terrorist hijackings.
