I am currently writing a project on the security of Windows XP and I
have a couple of questions about the protection of passwords. I
realise that LANMan hashes can be easliy cracked using L0phtcrack or
similar but what about NTLM and NTLM v2? Can these be easily broken
and if so with what?
Secondly can the SAM file be cracked if protected with SYSKEY?
