C:\windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt
A friend of mine has a compaq 2800t laptop with XP home on it, and just recen'ty everytime it boots up he gets a error message saying c:\windows\system32\config\system is corrupt of missing.
I've tried the repair console using fixboot, and chkdsk /r but both of them do not fix the problem.
I'm looking around google right now, but maybe someone here knows the answer. Is it a complete system crash. Do i have to reinstall. Or can I copy my system file and put it on his?
