Please check out this article, it may help you confirm that it is the Nic card and not TCP/Ip setup that is the problem?

That is what we used to do at ELNK comms remove all those files *.386 and the tcp/ip. then reinstall. It was called the old NUKE AND PAVE was a bitch to do with an old lady on the phone but unless winsocks were messed up this would be the last resort fix and would do it for the night. Ex- ELNK tech support haha.
