Now thats logic.
Rather than prevention. Cure.
Your logic is wrong.
If adware gets on my machine, I want to see any pop ups it will make so I know that adware somehow got there. I don't want a popup blocker hiding any symptoms of an infection. I don't consider a pop up blocker an answer to adware pop ups, it simply hides the symptoms.
As for prevention- Yes, I do have my security settings enabled and configured, thank you very much. 
edit: how weird.... I got a new IP from my isp, and now I can get to AO just fine.
