Internet Connectivity Problems
I have a freshly installed version of Slackware installed on an old box. It's got an ethernet connection to my router, and I have cable internet. I configured it to have a static IP address. However, I have huge lag and packet loss. When I try 'ping google.com', it resolves the IP address, but all of the packets time out. When I then try 'ping 216.239.37.99' I get about 50-60% packet loss. I can connect to other computers on my LAN fine. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks.
