Tracking cookies
The advertising.com and ad.doubleclick.net tracking cookies apprently collect anonymous information on web surfers habbits etc by collecting click stream data.
What is click stream data?
"Click Stream data is anonymous information on a web surfer, such as a web surfers IP address, web pages which have been viewed by a surfer, date and time, domin type and responses to advertisments."
So, if these cookies can tell someone an IP address and all the details of the web pages that the user has been to, how is it anonymous??
If they are truley anonymous surley they should not include the IP addy when they get back to the originating site.
Clear your cookies, then visit AO and re-check your cookies, O look an doubleclick.net cookie!
The first cookie (out of 32) I get from AO contains this;
bbuserid
162576
antionline.com/
1536
3508433792
29822298
1469012592
29748873
*
bbpassword
0d82c7b3bff77d6d72abebbc2b9284b4
antionline.com/
1536
3508433792
29822298
1469012592
29748873
*
Obviously this is the one used so I dont have to log into the site every time I visit, so to that end:
Is bbuserid 162576 a hash of nokia?
and is bbpassword 0d82c7b3bff77d6d72abebbc2b9284b4 a hash of my password?
//Obviously I changed a few numbers and letters just incase!
