Hi KK,
I really don't know the answer for sure, but I am beginning to suspect that your ISP might be "throttling" bittorrents.
I think that Limewire might be the more traditional downloading mechanism, so isn't detected?
That is a pure guess, but I have been reading lately about ISPs taking action to restrict the use of bittorrents on their servers. As far as I know this is not an attempt to enforce copyright or anything, it is the usual bandwidth and greed scenario.
