I know at least one other girl who knows just as much, if not more, than I do about computers. Come to think of it, Gore knows her too. He was just telling me about this thread, and gosh we started talking about assembler. I remember the class, it was horrible, the teacher was a nut. First off they taught pep7, which is some obscure emulator. That teacher had a serious superiority complex, he wasn't happy unless the class average was under 50%. So yeah, learning some obscure assembler emulator from a guy who isn't happy unless you fail was fun. The lack of resources alone drove me insane.
You know, you'd think things would have changed a little by now. I remember when I went to college, not many girls in any of my classes. Then there's the down side of being a girl and actually having a clue about computers, any time you walk into a computer stores, the techs treat you like you're an idiot. I really hate that, I got stuck with a lemon video card once because of that, I knew the card was overheating but the guy kept arguing with me that it wasn't and would not let me return it. Well in a way I guess that can be positive, you get used pretty quick to having to prove yourself.
Gore brags about me, but really he's amazing too. I messed up my back and I haven't been able to stand up straight for the past 3 days and he's been totally awesome even though his back's killing him too. He's been taking care of me, heck he almost had to carry me into the doctor's office this morning. I'm lucky to have him and I totally adore him.
Out there in the darkness, they're coming after me, a thousand stalking zombies, they want my brains to feed.
