Greetings:
No doubt the lack of interaction has a lot to do with how gawd damn slow the site has been.
I've been working away optimizing code and the databases. Slowly but surely things are starting to speed up.
Once everthing gets optimized, life will once again get better....

I have yet to see any forum that starts off with a whooping load of posts/posters.

This isn't a new forum. Its a new manifestation of the old one. If you were a member then, you would know that in the old forum......even stupid topics had 100+ posts.
ROFLMAO...."who's your daddy?"
"Info at his new job."
The friggin smilies.............heh

I do know that, and I also know that the site has been down for quite a while now....

Well....atleast it wasn't a total surprise then. heh
The site hasn't been down(relatively speaking of course).
JP : Lack of interaction from site speed????? that has something to do with it.
More or less I would say it has to do with :
design.....not that its bad, it just isn't as functional as the old one.
size.....the new site is a lot bigger than the old one......some people are getting lost I think. It isn't as straight forward as the other one either.
features.....more bells and whistles to sort through make it harder to have the same conversations.
functionality......This reminds me of a few Microsoft products......Released before they were ready, and the developers had to spend all of their time fixing the product amid chaos and complaining consumers.
Here is the biggy( you know this one) NO IRC. While there wasn't a channel for quite some time, once it was injected into the AO site, it was an instant hit. We all had the chance to talk to one another in real time, learn more about each other, discuss interesting topics......basically interact. This bolstered the content of the forum too(for the most part)
Anyway...I'm not complaining...just throwing in my 2 rubels.
I do luv the smilies.

yeah I agree with quad (woa, that sounds wierd) there's not much point in having a separate section for miscellaneous 'chit chat' when there's only one forum in it.
by the way, the email notification is actually kinda neat, I wouldn't be checking it at all otherwise

I'll have to agree too, the navigation takes abit too long... and can anyone tell me where the restrooms are?
