These are radicals who are REALLY bending the laws of the religion. Would you say that the KKK would be a good example of Christianity? These guys are NOT mainstream in Islam!!!
There have been numerous times when the USA has gone to the aid of other countries who needed help. But no one else helped us.
The French. American Independence. Do they teach nothing in schools these days?
[/b]This attack was designed to bring America to chaos. But it has done just the opposite; it brought us, as Americans, closer together. [/B]
I think it was intended to just get attention (however trite that sounds), not chaotic.

When I grow up I wanna be a terrorist. Well I wasn't quite being serious when I said that, but...
This **** is ridiculous. Man is responsible for the technology that will destroy him.
Talk about irony.

Damn PhirePhreak, you made this thread personal by that last post.

Thx Terr for taking that one. And btw Terr, what did you do with my brain???
There have been numerous times when the USA has gone to the aid of other countries who needed help. But no one else helped us. Usually, we've been able to solve problems on our own. But now, we do need outside support for a war not just on Afghanistan (and Iraq, from what I hear), but on terrorism in general. This is a completely different kind of warfare. And we need all the support we can get. Several of my friends have already been deployed overseas, and I might not ever see them again.
I'm from Belgium, and yes, the States did help us some 50 years ago. We're a small country, so it's obvious we can't fight an army two times the size of our population. We can't deploy a huge army, so we specialized in other things: Belgian army is considered to have the best minesweeping teams around the world, for example. But I guess that's something they don't show on CNN. 'No one else helped us?' EVERY EU-country had troops in the Gulf during the Gulf-war. And EVERY EU-country offered its help in the 'war' against terrorism. And before you start whining about that, Afghanistan is not in the EU. Just ask, and I'll give you some background on the EU, their goals and laws. One of those laws is that whenever a EU country is attacked, all other countries will come to aid. That's what we do over here, helping each other. And we're pretty good at it.
This attack was designed to bring America to chaos. But it has done just the opposite; it brought us, as Americans, closer together. In the past week, I have seen more American flags being proudly displayed than ever before in my life.
It's too bad it took a tragedy to bring you guys closer together.
Yeah, we've made mistakes in the past; everyone has. But why hold that against us now? I don't necessarily agree with everything my country has done/is doing, but I completely support it, because I believe that America is among the greatest countries on Earth.
Good nite, and God Bless America
God bless humanity.

I've been reading this post for about a week now... If I didn't know better, I would say some are getting a thrill out of the fact that the US was attacked by terrorists..

European countries do have allot of unity... Maybe the US should have more riots over a bad call at international soccer matches.
Every country has pride. And every country has problems. Even Belgium. How about world unity? Instead of who is better, how about the tolerance of different ideas and people? After all, intolerance is really how all this started.
I'm not ready to insult the solidarity of any country. What I am really worried about is world solidarity. We may live in a different place on this earth. But we're all human after all.

I do hope you're not referring to me on this one.

You've got a point there. It would be nicer if Europeans would unite through soccer (we call it 'football', btw ), instead of waiting for let's say a stadion to collapse. I was only trying to say that it shouldn't have taken a terrorist attack to bring the Americans closer together. I know you are proud of living in one of the greatest countries of the world, and you should be. Sorry if I insulted your solidarity. And PhirePhreak: I won't apologize to you, because you were wrong...

Never looked for an apology Negative. Just hoping that some day there is no intolerance of any country or race or religion. And thank you for the kind words...
The United States has invaded the lives of many around the globe. There is no excuse for it. They have many means and them unwisely... The words "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" applies here.
And Negative... Seen on the news that there was a bomb factory found in Belgium. There is no amount of countries that have to thank the Belgium government for finding that.
The point is that we should have no words that involve the word "Country". We are all the same really. And we should never use the country bounderies as a divide.
Also... There is NO excuse for what happened in NY... I know you agree with that.

Actually, I got the vast majority of information for that post from a newspaper article that has become a widely distributed e-mail. I'll try to track it down online for you and link to it later.
I accept that fact that you disagree with me, but you can't call me wrong just because of a minor disagreement.
I know you\'re out there. I can feel you now. I know that you\'re afraid. You\'re afraid of us. You\'re afraid of change. I don\'t know the future. I didn\'t come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it\'s going to begin. I\'m going to hang up this phone, and then I\'m going to show these people what you don\'t want them to see. I\'m going to show them a world without you, a world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

I'm looking forward to see your source on the 'There have been numerous times when the USA has gone to the aid of other countries who needed help. But no one else helped us'-stuff, PhirePhreak. I didn't mean to call you 'wrong', I indeed only disagree with you on that one... No hard feelings, of course.

Grow up
Around 7000 people died from these attacks.
24 000 people die from hunger every day (www.thehungersite.org)
Have a nice day
