Did you try searching for "bastille" in any good search engine?

Yes, I did, and I got a bunch of French holiday results. If this Bastille thing is a joke, it's not funny.

Ok, I downloaded and configured Bastille (correctly, I hope). I'm sorry I doubted you guys. I should have known better.
Since I have started this thread, I have reinstalled Red Hat with a custom install, so I have the graphical interface back. Life is a lot easier now. Is there anything else I should know before I take the ultimate leap of Linux faith?

While it's on my mind, I know there are viruses (and maybe trojans) for Linux. Do I need to worry about them? If so, what should I get to protect against them? Free would be preferred.

Can anybody tell me how to configure Red Hat to connect to the internet through a LAN? I have it communicating to the other machines on the network (not bad for a Linux beginner if I do say so myself), but I can't get it on the internet. I know it's not my router. Also, how do I map a network drive using Linux, and how do I map one to a Linux box through Windows? My book tells me very vaguely how to do it, but it's not working.

I don't want to sound too scathing stflook, but with 433 posts, you should at least *try* to set an example - i already told you how to network a linux box earlier in this post - linuxconf or ifconfig - do you need somebody to hold your hand in the process?
Use a search engine and get a life.

    You sound very scathing.

I have been looking myself, and I'm not coming up with much. Forgive me. I'm just getting started with Linux. Forgive me. I have a book on this, but books don't tell you everything. Forgive me. I'm just 16, and not a professional in the field of computers like some of the people here. Forgive me. I don't have much of a budget to be able to go out and buy software or other resources I might need. Forgive me. I want to do this right by getting input from people who know more about Linux than I do. FORGIVE ME!

If you had read my post more carefully, you would have known that I have it on the network, but I can't get it on the internet. I found out after I posted that last message that I can ping internet IPs, but I can't get it to do any more than that. I find that very peculiar. PLEASE read more carefully before you go off and start flaming people.

By the way, I AM setting an example by not trying to act l33t when I'm not, and not pretending to be somebody I'm not. I'm not above swallowing my pride and asking for help when I'm not the most knowledgeable person given the subject. Most important of all, I DON'T FLAME PEOPLE WHO ASK FOR HELP. Forgive me.

Let me see, "networking red hat", 123,000 results in 0.20 seconds - and you couldn't come up with much? Did you even try "man ifconfig"? You only found out AFTER posting this you can ping external ip's, what the **** were you doing before that, looking at the lights on the network card?
I've tried to help you many times stflook, but this is a discussion forum, not a ****ing nursery.
