great! FBI has no right to make them agree (the virus software companies) what FBI wants to do ( i mean what FBI interests?!). for the brightside (as what FBI would say), it is for our own good.

What you must realize is that the FBI will do what it wants to, with or without permission. It does not matter if it is legal or not, it will be done if they so desire. I dont know much about computers, but if there is one thing I do know a little about, it is that the government will do what it wants to regardless of what anyone wants or thinks. What you must also realize is that what goes on behind the scenes is much more than what everyone will read about. All they need to do is make an under-the-table deal with the software writers and that is all she wrote. Believe me, the government is not above that.

If you have a wintel box and you run firewalls wich are updated and have your virus dat updated there is little chance of **** happening.
The firewall (like zonealarm) asks what goes in and out. And the antivirus doesn't have to stop MAgic Lantern specifically but could also detect the program as being a trojan.
And yes Norton and McAfee folded at the start but later changed their plans.
