Im sure Ive heard this whole MS debate somewhere else?

To be honest I would not like to see MS nudging in on the whole mobile phone scene or the old time phreakers will be back in business.

Wink Is M$ taking over the world?

Steve Jobs and Apple screwed themselves, their arrogance on holding onto thier proprietary hardware design was their downwfall. If they had allowed manufacturers to copy/clone their hardware so that it could run Apples OS they would without a doubt be the dominant force or at least a strong competitor to M$. But they wanted to hold onto everything and it's cost them.

M$ give cheap OS licenses to schools thereby breeding new generations of M$ users. Apple cant or wont compete with that.

Also I've heard that msoft is working on the business plan for

a personal firewall product aimed at knocking out the rest of the field.

A server firewall product to take on the current leaders.

An eval is underway to see the roi and revenue streams associated with this new market entry.

    Will they stop?

Microsoft has always been trying to rule the OS world. Will it happen. HELL NO. Windows may be popular for the home and small business user. But when you start talking about server based computing in the enterprise network. Microsoft still leaves a lot to be desired.

SUN, HP, IBM, and even linux will prevent this from ever happening

A M$ firewall protecting M$ servers, that makes me laugh!

The big question is, in what century will this happen. I can tell you for a fact that this is nowhere in the near future.
