    It's an incestuous world...
Mankind have a great aversion to intellectual labor; but even supposing knowledge to be easily attainable, more people would be content to be ignorant than would take even a little trouble to acquire it.

I work for Corus Americda Inc. (formerly British Steel). UK based company. We're on the 20th floor in the Nortel building. I live in Bloomingdale right next to Stratford Square mall. Man I eat at that Friday's about once a week or so!

I used to live in roselle, and now I live in Streamwood. I go work out at the Lifetime Fitness Health Club in Bloomingdale (across from the mall) almost every day.

i am a 21 year old associate information management specialist for the air force reserve base in pittsburgh, pa. i am responsible for a little bit of everything i suppose. mostly user level support and networking. of course security is a major issue here. i hold a secret clearance already and would like to earn top secret at some point. pretty much all my knowledge is self taught from experience. security and networking are my favorite areas of IT and would like to get into consulting on the side for both.

I was hired as a C++/Java programmer but since it is a small company, I now develop software while acting as a UNIX admin. Luckily we have lots of capital so we have many nice Sun Servers. We also have an in house userbase of about 50 people, so I must listen to their stupidity and then ask my coworker to go deal with it. It isn't too easy juggling big and complex programming projects while keeping everything running smoothly and making enough to time to put you idiots down. But I manage, why? Because I am capable.

It sounds like your living the life i would like to be living in the next few years. How did you get this job for the airforce.

But anyway, Whats up everyone the names Mark or some people call me Berky. I just turned 18, goin to highschool for half a day then i take a bus over to the good old Morris County Vocational School where i take ccna classes mid 3rd semester right now with a 95 averge. Not only am i move at doulbe the pase of the class (they jsut started 2nd) i got the highest grades.(yeah i'm braggin, and yeha i sound like a loser nerd,) but yeah so i'm goin to new jeresey VICA in a few weeks, competion for tech students specifically cisco for me. As far as jobs i worked at compusa for a year and a half up till this past sepember when i quit. now i'm doin preety mcuh nothing, just set up a small network in my fathers bussiness. And i'm just kickin back with my friends.
Now i'm lookin for a nice network/ tech job.

i'm wondering if any one is from around my town, Parsippany its a preety big town, lucent and pny are located in it. you may hav heard of those companys.(be nice to get a job for them)
Only problem i got is i leave for college this august, i'm goin to Pennslyvania COllege of TEchnolgy in WIlliams port.

Well if anyone has any suggestions of how i can get my name out there for a job i'd like to here them. I like the idea of working with preety mcuh everything that plugs into the network like a couple people said. Its been nice telling u bout myself, catch ya later
I know that i may never be all the things that i wanna be, but now is not the time to cry, nows the time to find out why. I wanted more than life could ever grant me.

Invictus: I would have to agree with you. . .I have a passion for networking which I've just recently discovered, but I can see a path to get there through electrical engineering. Additionally, I have also had a passion for computer HARDWARE rather than software. . .so it seems logical for myself.
