"currently I am enrolled i the ccna program, third sem. I was wondering what should i take next
to increase my marketability?"

That is going to depend on which direction you want to take yourself. The CCNA is nothing more than general networking knowledge. Not too much involved with Cisco specifics. What will your company require of you? What do you feel more comfortable working on? The CCNP starts to get more involved in Cisco specific information. I haven't started on the design track yet, but I imagine it has more to do with management and decisions as far as costs and what will work best for what scenario. Also, realize that while Cisco holds a large portion of the market, their certs are not the only one's out there. Mabye just a little more glorified than some of the others. Are you in the type of situation where you can specialize in one area, or do you need to be a jack of all trades? I just got turned on to the security side of the house. Now that's a whole different monster that I am finding very appealing. It's almost like starting my learning process over again. In this field, the beautiful thing is, you can never stop learning. You will take your career where you want. You can only find what you enjoy doing by trying to expose yourself to multiple environments. Good luck!!
