Weeelllll, I am a 28 year old going back to school type...lol. I actually spent about the last five years working at a small credit union as their loan officer/computer fixer(when we called our tech guys, it ended with me on the floor crawling around while they said umm, try this, no, try that!) So, because I knew so much about computers, I decided to go to school....HAHA! Can I just say now, that I knew exactly Jacksh!t, as it turns out. But I am still enjoying going to school, and I am about halfway through my MCSE courses, I will be done June 30.
I would really like to be like TechieChick, I also live in a very small town with slim to no options for their computer and networking needs. I am really interested in networking, but have figured out unless your network is secure....it doesn't matter how good it is, it won't last. My biggest problem is that when I read something in the book and then try it on my computer, I usually break my computer....but on the bright side, I seem to learn more fixing it after it's broke than I did reading it....lol!
Well that's me....not to exciting, but what I get up for every morning....
Oh, yeah, I wound up here because ALL of the instructors I had said it was a really good security site, and seems maybe they were right!!

Lemme see here.. From south sweden, Lund. (Uni. town)
Attended another Uni with the intention of becoming a networkadmin. Their intention was to educate consultants and I dropped out. After that I looked after a handicaped guy, took care of the computers in a research department and a couple of others.
Now I´m back in school again.

Ok. Let's see.. I ain't giving my age. Ya'll make me feel ancient! Anyways, I am a professor at a local college and usually I teach security, tcp/ip and hardware (gah! I've become a hardware monkey!). While I'm mostly on the networking side I am trying to use my spare time to learn some programming mostly in the assembly and C areas.

I suppose with my little robot project I will be brushing up on BASIC again. I never dies! I swear.

    Great Thread Sgt_b,
I'm a backup firewall admin, an Network admin and responsible for security access on about everything else a healthcare provider might have, software anyway. I was a tech for 9 years and am finding myself a little over my head in this security position, thought I was going to get the money, the girls and leave at 1 for lunch and never come back. YA right.
