This kind of stuff is interesting, I've heard devices like this where they can randomly knock out a large proportion of the circuts and still have it work.

Several redundant transwarp coils in each borg sphere (cubes aren't transwarp capable, they have to use transwarp conduits created by other vessels). If one fails, another one kicks in.
