    Cool girls = evil

heh I quickly read your posts to this thread and I see that noone posted that girls are evil!

Yes!! We should be happy that here on AO isnt much girls or woman... Here I post a mathematical proof that girls = evil.... (many of you has probably already seen that but for those who hasnt...)

So be careful and fight with that evil!!!!!

Of course just joking!!! Its good to have girls here, its good to have girls everywhere.. but I liked that proof

    hope the attachment works...

Not that it was anywhere close to a scientific study, but out of 105 "subordinates" (company speak for those employees you are fortunate enough to look out for...) all of whom worked the same complicated office database (800million$ not counting extensive real estate holdings, a dozen fixed-wing multi-engine and turbine aircraft, a half-dozen choppers, and extensive heavy construction equipment which were on a separate database), the females in my shop seemed more interested in their work, asked more complicated, valid questions, worked harder and never left their office before their upload was done for the day and integrated into the master database. If there was an old file for one of the guys, it went something like; "hell, man, I dunno, that file went outa here on time, didncha git it, man, musta been one a them hackers intercepted it....?" The females ultimately seemed to know considerably more (technically and operationally speaking) about the accounting, reporting, program operation and occasional need for system recovery than the average male employee. If one of the girls did have a crash she always was able to tell me the exact chain of events and keystrokes leading up to the problem, so there was really no challenge to fix it. Whenever the guys had a crash, it went something like; "Wow, man, I dunno, just walked in the friggin' door, man, and bing-bang-boom, crash, man, the sob won't even turn on the blue screen with nothing on it, man..." So it was always a lot more challenging figuring out what problems the guys were looking at (like, "didja clean up all the coffee that spilled from the cupholder, man..?") than it was getting the girls back online and productive. About a 50/50 mix male/female probably. The girls always claimed they had to work twice as hard and know twice as much to get the same credit as the guys. I don't know about that. On the other hand, the females had very little knowledge or social participation in the realm of serious after-hours drinking, smashing their cars into guardrails in an attempt to see if the airbags would deploy... and they hardly ever "broke" their desktops or lost their databases... they never lost their supporting documents, and they never failed to show up for work on time so I didn't have to make complicated excuses to the CEO and then go try to find them somewhere... So, maybe some people might say the male employees tended to make the job a lot more challenging and interesting... I don't know. Just thought I'd throw that in the ring for some reason, probably doesn't mean much...

Well, since someone else already revived it...I might as well add my .02. I am a female, and the shoe is on the other foot here....I am one of only two girls in my class, and the other one is actually the student coordinator, so I'm the only one in there just for the knowledge....I once put my husband sound asleep talking about TCP/IP.....

My boyfriend was proud that I did better than most of the males in Networking even before I took the class.

I too bore my computer dyslexic friends but I have learned since my first year not to bother with anything past basic LAN and such.

    Hmm...interesting.
I'm a female as well. I choose to use a name that doesn't automatically identify me as such because I've found in some places (although I have encountered this in no way at Anti-online) people equate female with computer illiterate.
I have no family in computers, or any friends that introduced me to them, it is something that I found on my own.
I would like to say in response to this:
You know what sucks being a tech guy, at the end of the day (or anytime for that matter), no one wants to here about that program/bug you're working on or that that new firewall/ids box you've just set up is just so paranoid and you think it's cool...
Please, please, please dear god....send me a man who's eye's don't glaze over and his stare become distant as soon as I touch upon a topic he doesn't consider himself to be an expert in! lol.

The only reason that you are asking for women is because you probably want to have some girl chat. Well I'm a man that loves to join girl chat. So lay me an issue you girls want to talk about.

    Girl CHAT???

Like..gee...wish this darn cat5 cable came in pink??

    gah..

So much for pleading the 5th.

I'm the sole owner of a small yet succesful tech shop in a tiny town that supports me on a daily basis. In the begining, yes, I got grief but when that happend I just gave them the hairy eyeball and then proved them wrong. My aim isn't to embarrass those that feel that my gender must be a detriment to my abilities, but to educate them. Funny, the ones that started out as my biggest detractors are now my biggest fans and a source of many referrals.

Yes, my nick pretty much screams out I'm a girl but I use it as it was given to me by one of my customers and it's kind of stuck. Not to mention, I like it.

Wow, I can't believe that this thread somehow got revived.....again. This is kinda scarry.
not just kinda scary... purely bad... i hope someone flies by and closes it...

as for sun and his little theory on women. women are not evil... there are plenty very good ones. including some at this site. so i wouldn't be too quick to claim that girls are evil... maybe you haven't experienced any good ones yet...

*hugs Arazel*--- plenty of good girls...
