    hi, friend..

    think that you are comparing FreeBSD realm with (maybe) Linux realm. Using your /stand/sysinstall you will find it (packet installer or new packet installer.

    Think also that you want to peruse at http://www.freebsd.org and search for 'ports collection' in the handbook. There you will learn a very clever way to install new 'ports' into your box.
