    Personally, I like Sams books...Learn HTML in 24 hrs. I am not a programmer, but I found that book easy to follow. I was able to create a simple web-page quickly with it.

    As far as a topic, maybe you could do something for your mil. division (if it's allowed)...possibly a site for friends and relatives to visit to keep up on you...that way you should get a constant supply of new material

    hmmmm the intro to bonfire.tk looks like it was done in swish - no offence free0n if it wasn't
    swish is good for a beginner but has limitations to what you can accomplish - IMHO get a copy of Flash 5 and start having some fun

    Ok, now I kinda have a feel about how to do this...anyone really have any topic ideas I mean I love computers, cars and sex. There are alot of websites about all three so where I start I am clueless

    You should try to do a webdesign site showing your experience in learning and in the same time, helping others. just a thought

    CyberMagellan, the best way to learn Html is to look at a website and view its source. Compare the source with the webpage and see what tags do everything. THis is how i learned HTML and i waz about 11 when i learned HTML so i don't think it will be very hard for you.
