what are these services running on my PC

i portscanned my self to see what idd find and found this:

port:135; service:dcom; statuspen
port:1025; service:blackjack; statuspen

what are thes ports and services used for?

i am particualrly concerned about black jack which runs on 1 port above the las well known ports. can someone enlighten me about this oplease. i could be a trojan but i have a very up to date scanner so i dont know what it could be. help!

Port 135 is NetBIOS service which is used in a LAN to communicate with 'friendly' computers, If you dont have netBIOS enabled, then block the port using a firewall....
Port 1025 is a port for an online casino game (you guessed it... Blackjack) The game is called 1025 blackjack, Do a search in google and youll have some interesting information

If your using windblows(95/98) you should remove the client for M$ networking. You will disable netbios by doing so.

It's difficult to tell what service is running just by naming a port, especially if the port is a high port (ie over 1024). Port 1025, commonly listed as network blackjack, is the first high port. Really this port could be running any service so you'll have have to do some digging and find out what service this port is running. Try using netstat. What happens if you block the port with your firewall?

Black Jack probably is like some online gameing software that you installed unintenstionally and might be running spyware you should delete it

Actually, I've searched google for a couple of minutes, and more people seem to have this port open... Causes are sought in areas ranging from Norton Anti Virus to faulty installed firewalls.

Yeah, 1025 being "special" and all as the "first high port" tends to end up getting all sorts of odd listeners by normal "user" processes. FTP clients (even web browsers) can sometimes end up sitting on it, too, waiting for FTP-DATA or something to come back from a file download, for example.

And yeah... "netstat -an" is your friend - there's a ton of uses for it - particularly on non-broken systems like windows (I mean, systems that aren't broken - windoze is one of the "badly deformed" systems out... beyond broken, in other words)
