I'm not sure I exactly understand the question, but I have a guess.
Depending on which web browser you're using, you should be able to find some sort of option in the preferences that will aloow you to set up a proxy. The you tell it what address to go to, what port to use, etc. Then all you do is type the address you want to go to in the location field and the browser should do all the behind the scenes work of asking the proxy for the page.
Is that what you were trying to do?
