I have this framed in my house, right near the front door. I realize my daughter is only two years old but I wnat everyone to get used to the idea. If you know what I mean.
This is a true classic.
Mankind have a great aversion to intellectual labor; but even supposing knowledge to be easily attainable, more people would be content to be ignorant than would take even a little trouble to acquire it.

I remember datiing this girl in high school, her dad was a sheriff.
The cnversation went something like this:
Sheriff: Come on over here son I'd like to show my gun collection.
Me: Right..
As we are standing in front of the gun cabinet.
Sheriff: I love my daughter very much, son, If anything were to happen to her......
Me: are you threatening me?
Sheriff: I never threaten.
Me: Great, then I'll have your daughter back around 10........in a bag.
hahahaha. Yeah we dated for about a week......

Too funny. Made a copy for my daughter's bedroom door. Wasn't ready for the boyfriend, thing. Seem to have a hard time getting them to participate in my hobbies (http://www.cheyennegunslingers.org) -- LOL
Korp - I can relate. Dated a girl in HS whose father was an FBI agent. Lasted maybe 4 days... Spooky dude.

*cries* Do you know how many cuties were scared away from those lectures....
I used to avoid the whole parent thing as long as I could, until I knew the both of us really had something and the whole interrogation/threat situation wouldn't scare him away...
