"Hacking Competition" Gone Wrong
I Thought this was an interesting article on a "hacking competition" gone awry. http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t269-s2111243,00.html
Ok folks, the link is fixed. Thanks Kezil for the correct link.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

LMAO.. those kids were just using their "hacker initiatives" aka "hacker instincts" i mean.. the target was way protected for a direct attack so they tried to find a way to get around it... cant blame em.. thats just constructive thinking.

That's fascinating. I would never have thought of something like that, it's sad how unrealistic that contest is, but for $100,000- I'd play by the rules .

$100,000 for hacking a Mickey Mouse-type server. Odd.

Well, first step... target enumeration - and that's what they did... LOL
Yeah, probably what they did was "wrong" - but it was a hacking contest. So, yeah... I think it could be argued that KDWorks implicitely granted permission for them to also go after that server.
