Thread: Growing Army of Trained Crackers!!!

  1. #11
I think it are these mentors that help contribute to giving hackers a bad name. They are basically training people to become blackhats/virus writers and that is something that needs to be stopped.

This sounds a lot like the "gang" problems that most cities were facing way back when. But most of it still comes down to knowing what your kids and thier friends are up to. I was a little bit of a problem when i was younger, but it was not for my mom and dad keeping tabs on me. She would know things that happened in high school before i got home. kinda scare in a paranoid kinda way.

Gee, I come in here looking for a way to train crackers. I prefer mine with salami and cheese. If I could find a way to get the cracker to get the salami and cheese, then come sit on my lap untill I tell it I am ready, at which point is jumps in my mouth, I would be a very happy man. And if I had an Army of these trained crackers, I would be in extasy.

My two cents, are these people truly mentors or cons? Think about it is this a bit of Social Engineering or what? Lets say I know a bit of hacking into a e-commerence site, being well read I know I can use these tools they are easy but I don't want to get caught. So being older and knowing the folly of youth, I more or less prey upon kids in the name of security, let them post the info and I just get it off their site. No one is looking at me now are they? The oldest con in the book is getting something for free. I believe the mentors are more closely related to cons preying upon youth.
I believe that one of the characteristics of the human race - possibly the one that is primarily responsible for its course of evolution - is that it has grown by creatively responding to failure.- Glen Seaborg

Are you sure it wasn't him that messed with your email account....

Anyone who encourages others to commit crime is a con. But it is still a mentor because he/she is the teacher.
