something in an faq or rules somewhere says DON"T ADVERTISE FOR SiTEs. If you really want to do that, then do something discreet and/or helpful, like saying, i've got the answer to that on my website HERE, and if you do, then people will look at your site more for answers to their q's. You could even post a link then put up a poll to ask what people think, it works, ppl will even give you greenies if it's a good site, sickdwarf did this recently............

komal: He is being serious. You get kicked off of the site after you get 300 negative antipoints automatically by the system. It's nothing anyone does by hand or anything.

He was autonbanned for the 300 negs, but he got those negs when he couldn't/wouldn't provide information that showed the wargame server was truely his own. He felt compelled to act in a less than civil fashion. I'm sure that if someone were willing to provide all information that demonstrates ownership of the machine that is intended to be used as a war game server, many of the users here would not have had any issue with it.

i have noticed alot of people getting banned b/c there remarks were posted hidden.. i didnt even know you could do that.. and who would be so lame to do it any way...

The hidden feature can be added to your posts nut in their case it has been added because they have been banned thus all their posts are automatically hidden. Great feature I think.

im abit confussed why komal and cyb3rn3tik got kicked of, yes i know about the rule thing of antipoints but it seems harshely unfair to me,

it looks to me lik u moderators like playing god to much.

correct me if im wrong or are you going to ban me as well.

A couple of things scoobs. I haven't been here all that long but I've caught on to the rules rather quickly.

First of all posts in here should have some relevance to the general topics of conversation, and most threads are either questions, or basic information. It's not a place of free advertisement for your own personal website, and to do so is abusing AO's purposes.

Secondly, people on here don't appreciate excess sarcasm about the way the site is run, and I don't blame them. Frankly, I think the sight is run rather well, and the autoban feature helps keep out the people who can't seem to follow the rules, or can't seem to find anything usefull to say.

I'm not going to give you negs (although I've recently been given the power to do so...hehe) because your question was valid, but you may want to consider your word usage in the future, as you current mood expresses the type of sarcasm that doesn't seem to be appreciated on here.

ive been geting this alot lately and i dont mean to ofend people its just the way i come accross.

my point was that the 2 people i mentiononed that got kicked off only asked a question that was fair and they got the boot.
and as far as relavence to this topic i kinda went on this thread from the start dont u think.

and last but not least, yes this site is genrally well run, my point was the 2 poeple that got kicked off seemed to be kicked off not for breaking the rules,but asking questions about breaking the rules

The people that were banned that were posting in this thread, weren't banned only for their comments to this thread. Click on the profile of each of them and see some of the many other reasons they were banned.

AO doesn't ban people unfairly, they deserve it for one reason or another. Getting 300 negs is not something you can do by making one mistake.
