Given enough time, you could easily do something like this with the phone book, or in fact any long enough pice of writing. With the multiple translations and the "look around for important dates" thing, the results are completely meaningless and have been created by the "decoder's" mind.

If you want to learn more about the bible code look for the movie pi as in the math symbol. Its about a guy who is dealving in chaos theory and discovers another number like pi that is supposedly the key to the bible code. Also I'm pretty sure that the bible code is only for the original torah written in hebrew. This is interesting because each letter in the hebrew alpha bet, (first to being Alpha and beta, hence alphabet) corisspond to numbers. many interesting combinations have been found with this.

Well check out the movie, I thought it was pretty interesting.

YES!!! I'm an AO addict.... *jitters*

I've found some more interesting articles with some quite humorous examples, including the highly mentioned ELS method being used in Moby Dick....

My conclusion from most of what I've found so far, is that, although this may be just an interesting coincidence, for those that have religion, it brings hope...and even for myself, who is without one....It has brought increasing interest, one of which I'm sure I'll be talking about for quite some time to come....

my opinion on bible code is this... you can make anything say what you want it to say. all you have to do is look for it. the reason why people say that if you look for it you can find predictions about ww 1 & 2 is because they already happened. if they hadn't happened, we never would have seen it. just like the WTC on the back of the $20 bill. and the fact that if you take the <blank> letter ( i think 26th) of the original hebrew, it spells out a continuous strain of jesus. but the original hebrew texts do not exist. it is bizarre, but i believe it to be coincidence and based upon our perception of reality that we now experience. if our reality was different, people would have found something different for it to say.

8*ball> actually the low volume thing is true... i wish i had a source for that, but i don't off the top of my head. as for the backwards thing... i have heard a bunch of the said things that are said backwards. now honestly, some of them are complete bs. but on the other hand there are quite a few (including the eagles hotel california) that are blantantly audible and clear. now, i am not sure that these voices are satan or what... (it could just be a scam anyhow... someone doing it for kicks) but given the rest of the history on hotel california (the song, the place, and the album) it is interesting no matter who says it. don't get me wrong, i will clarify, i do not know or think that it is satan. but i am not really sure what it is... just some crazy stuff.

I think 8*B@LL is right on the money with this one!
In order for there to be anything really there in this one, then it would have have come from the original version of the book in it's original language. ...unless we are contemplating having additional divine intervention during every translation of the book that we are going to look at. hmm... Hey Greek goddess, there's an angle for ya to consider.
