good point.i downloaded the file off a discussion board it gave a password
i thought well i just need to unzip it and give the password but lo
and behold its not simply a zip but a neto.zip.pgp
thats when i ran to my antionline family
its supposed to be porn (the file)
but now im really confused if i need another pgp key to open it

Hehe, I thought so. you need a public and private key. the encrypter has the private key and the one wanting to decrypt recieves the public key. The keys are created in a set, and the public one is distributed. hence you must have the ORIGINAL SENDERS public key. the file is passed through the public key, and it unlocks it, since its coded with the same code as the private key. this is meant for secure transmissions over PPTP. So without the original public key, your SOL.

EDIT: note : some servers store the public key... so if its on the server... you should be able to get it.... but thats kinda doubtful if they are using pgp...whats the point if you give out the key to the lock?

Dunno, X, I got hit with negs on my first reply, Im not sure why, they didnt sign it, and I asked to be contacted... but it was a odd assignment... ??? *shrug* could be?
